đŸŽ¯ Recent DPF regeneration issues identified as a failing DPF Pressure sensor on this one.

⚠ī¸ Vehicle not running like it should?
– Engine lights on?
– Not as quiet, smooth, responsive or economical as it should be?
– Get it checked out and cleaned up with our Which? Trusted Traders approved service.

🚗 Here we have a Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 TDCI (2013 – 113,446 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and potential Engine Carbon Clean and/or DPF Clean as necessary.

ℹī¸ Running issues included service now warnings, DPF regeneration warnings, poor fuel economy and a noisy engine. The owner had used us before on his previous vehicle and wanted to get it checked out and cleaned up.

🔎 Initial inspection found no apparent issues in the engine bay with no rattles or leaks, just a heavy bass note from the carbon present.

đŸ’ģ Initial diagnostics again showed a permanent code for the DPF pressure sensor along with other historic bits and pieces across the rest of the car. The codes were documented and cleared and just the DPF pressure sensor one returned immediately.

📊 Live data monitoring showed all other data looking fine with coolant temperature at 93°C, EGR movement and flow looking OK, etc.

⚠ī¸ The DPF live data showed approx 35% fill level, 229 miles driven since last regeneration, but an average between regenerations at just 43 miles. This explains the fuel economy as the failing sensor is playing havoc with the regeneration process.

❗ Thankfully the DPF isn’t yet blocked, so we proceeded with the Engine Carbon Clean to clean up the source of the dirt and along with a new (and recalibrated) pressure sensor, a change of fuel quality and a service which is due this should be good to go.

👨‍🔧 On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down and by the end it was quieter, smooth and responsive again.
