Adrian is a lovely fella, explained the process, carried it out well, clearly done exactly what it needed to do as I blew a load of stuff out the back when I drove it after. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

Steve arrived to give my Jaguar xfs an engine carbon clean. Presently on 107,000 miles. Explained the process and was obviously very knowledgeable about the process and expected outcomes. And he was a thoroughly nice chap.
The V6 in the xfs is a quiet, smooth, powerful unit and I was not sure of what improvements I would get. Well, I’m impressed. The power delivery is smoother, the engine even quieter and 6 mpg better to boot.
If you want to do one thing to maintain and improve your motor, then this is what you should do.
Had the pleasure to meet Adrian this morning who performed a carbon clean on my bmw 525d
Very knowledgeable guy, I was really impressed.
Car drives much better now, highly recommend.

Thanks Adrian

Iv had the pleasure of having 2 Carbon cleans from both Adrian and Mark. Both lovely gentlemen and you can tell they love what they do. My car failed on emissions and this helped me get the car through the test, and at the time, I REALLY needed a pass because I couldn’t get anywhere. These guys saved me. Not only that, it’s a lot cheaper here compared to other places also. Thank you so much and look forward to seeing you in future endeavours.

Sticking Turbo Symptoms

If your vehicle is suffering with code for turbo overboost (P0234), turbo underboost (P0299) or other sticky turbo symptoms then our service is an ideal starting point.

Sticking Turbo symptoms can manifest themselves with lack of power, or jerky power delivery, coil lights, engine management lights and limp mode issues.  The cause will usually be down to:

Sticking Turbo Causes

Bottom line is an Engine Carbon Clean might help depending on what the issue is – we won’t know until we try.

We have done plenty where the issue has purely been down to carbon build-up causing sticking vanes or just restricted airways, but have come across quite a few where the metal surface has pitted when its been in contact with the carbon too long and although the carbon is removed then the surface is no longer smooth so it can still stick.

On occasion there can be an issue with the turbo itself (mechanically/electrically, e.g. the N75 valve, actuator) or perhaps the boost sensor, etc. which is why until we plug in the diagnostics to see if anything obvious or do the clean then we won’t actually know if it cures the symptoms until we try.

Carbon Cleaning FAQs

What does an Engine Carbon Clean do?

Keeping your engine cleaned on a regular basis helps prevent issues such as DPF issues, MOT emissions failures or sticking turbos. An Engine Carbon Clean is great at cleaning up the back of a turbo, combustion chamber, injector tips, pistons, cylinders and cats to get a vehicle running smooth, quiet, responsive, economical and emissions friendly again.

Can you carbon clean a petrol engine?

Yes. All hydrocarbon engines create carbon build up depending on the mileage, driving style, journey length and fuel quality used. You can clean petrol, diesel, LPG, hybrid or anything else such as methane.  Not just cars and vans, but we also work on boats, tractors, tanks, generators, landfill engines, anything really.

What are signs of carbon build up?

Typical symptoms include a decline in fuel economy, noisier engine, increased vibration, sluggish response and smoke/emissions levels. As fuel economy and emission targets have got stricter over the years the engine components have been developed and added in order to keep the soot within the vehicle rather than passing it out through the exhaust. This then clogs up EGR valves, inlet manifolds and DPFs.

When should you Engine Carbon Clean?

If you have just bought a vehicle or warranty is due to expire then it is a perfect time to get it checked out and cleaned up. As part of your regular maintenance plan an ideal time is just prior to a service or MOT to help keep your vehicle running smoothly, quietly, economically and with low emissions. Most people are coming back for repeats approximately every 15-20k miles based on driving style, journey length and fuel quality.

Does Carbon Engine Cleaning actually work?

Yes it does and it is very good at what it does as long as the relevant pre-checks are performed to ensure an effective clean and critically it is done by someone who is properly trained, certified, with the right approach and equipment.
