â ī¸ DPF Light on and won’t go off? Get it diagnosed ASAP as typically a component required for regeneration will be faulty.
đ Here we have a BMW Mini 1.6 diesel (2007 – 123,327 miles) with a DPF light on. The light had been illuminated now without going out for some time and the vehicle was starting to suffer.
đđ Diagnostics showed the glow plug controller was faulty.
â Before a vehicle will regenerate it needs to be up to temperature and have enough fuel in it, but as well requires a number of components to be functional. Exhaust Gas temperature sensors, DPF pressure sensors, EGRs amongst others and in the case of BMW vehicles a glowplug system fault will disable regeneration.
âšī¸ In any vehicle driving around at high revs will not ‘force’ a regeneration if the supporting components are faulty.
In this case no cleaning performed and the owner advised to get the glowplug controller replaced (and plugs for good measure).
