⚠️ Sticking turbo, limp mode and poor fuel economy on this Volvo XC90 (2007 – 180,632 miles)
📝 ‘I’ve booked Adrian’s services because I was at the point of selling my Volvo XC 90. I was sick and tired of engaging limp mode just when you wanted to accelerate. Adrian came having already explained what he could and couldn’t achieve with Carbon Clean. I have to say the results are magnificent! It’s like a car it was five years ago! 🚗 Here we have a Volvo XC90 (2007 – 180,632 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
ℹ️ The owner had turbo/limp mode issues and poor running and wanted us to investigate and clean up the engine to help with fuel economy, etc.
🔎 Initial inspection found no major issues in the engine bay, but a significant bass rumble and boom from the exhaust and a lack of response.
💻 Initial diagnostics showed multiple engine codes including turbo boost and control plus injector codes. We documented and cleared these for the owner and monitored their reappearance.
📊 Live data monitoring showed live data looking OK with coolant temperature at 88°C when stress tested, decent EGR movement and DPF regeneration working well. Turbo data is difficult to assess at standstill and injector fuelling looked way over usual.
👨🔧 On with the clean and the engine smoothed out massively and quietened down and by the end it was quieter, smooth and responsive again.
