π Audi A4 2.0 TDCi (2017 β 94,462 miles)
πReason for booking in…
‘I have a 67′ A4 with an engine light on, code I’m getting is P2002.’
π Initial inspection found no obvious issues in the engine bay apart from a tell tale rumble in the engine from the carbon present.
π Initial code read found…
Code for P2002:00 – Particulate Trap (bank 1), Efficiency Below Threshold
π Live data showed acceptable coolant temperature in the 90s and DPF data indicating the DPF wasn’t blocked with a measured value of 0.9g soot, regeneration just 51 miles ago and low backpressures.
β However, the calculated value for spot content was up at 9g. We have seen an increasing amount of these DETA engines recently where this code is present and the calculated values have been up to 20g higher than measured – subsequent feedback from the owners when these have been looked at is the EGR cooler is at fault.
π§βπ§ We proceeded with an Engine Carbon Clean and it soon smoothed out, quietened down and by the end it was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
β The owner can now get the EGR cooler assessed.
