MOT Emission Issues – Oxygen Sensor – Diagnostic and Clean – Mini Cooper 1.6 (2010 – 117,104 miles)

⚠ī¸ MOT / Emissions issues? Carbon buildup causing overfuelling plus an Oxygen Sensor issue are the culprits on this one…

🚗 Here we have a Mini Cooper R56 (2010 – 117, 104 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.

ℹī¸ The owner had booked in due to the vehicle struggling on emissions at MOT.

🔎 Initial inspection found no obvious issues in the engine bay.

đŸ’ģ Initial diagnostics found codes for the upstream oxygen sensor, along with some other historic bits and pieces in the rest of the vehicle. We documented and cleared these for the owner, but the upstream oxygen sensor one returned immediately.

📊 Live data monitoring showed decent values all round with coolant temperature up to 105°C, but the oxygen sensor was giving bad values.
