🚗 Here we have a much loved VW Sharan 1.9 TDI (2005 – 118,237 miles). The owner was thinking about a remap and contacted us for advice on how best to prepare.
ℹ️ Before placing more load on the vehicle from a remap it is best to restore the existing performance and reduce the load from buildup present.
🔎 Initial inspection found little of note apart from excessive bass note and vibration from the engine due to the age and mileage. Initial diagnostics showed two codes – one for the auxiliary parking heater and one for the parking sensor system.
📊 Live data showed values looking good with temperatures where they should be and injector fuelling all within tolerances so good to go for the clean.
👨🔧 On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out, quietened down and the response returned. Injector correction on the injectors dropped down from 0.6 to 0.3 as it smoothed out and by the end was lovely and quiet again.
📝 ‘Was thinking about remapping my VW Sharan so decided to have it carbon cleaned first, I contacted Adrian who was excellent at explaining the job to me step by step, what he would do and when he was available to do it, he came on time and communication was excellent throughout, real genuine bloke, the work carried was precise and I couldn’t have asked for a better service, there are a lot off people who do this work out there but you only get what you pay for.
