🚗 Here we have a Vauxhall Zafira 2.0 CDTI (2013 – 71,016 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
ℹ️ The owner had recently been experiencing boost and limp mode issues and had taken it to a garage to be investigated and with no success.
🔎 Initial inspection found the intake pipe was not reconnected properly just prior to the turbo – likely not refitted properly after a recent ‘turbo cleaner’ had been used. With no other rattles or leaks, just a bass note indicating the carbon present we proceeded to secure the pipework in the correct position.
💻 Initial diagnostics found historic boost and MAF codes present which we documented and cleared with no codes returning.
📊 Live data monitoring showed all data looking fine with coolant temperature at 95°C, DPF values showing good average regeneration distances and good injector fuelling data. All other data looked spot on.
👨🔧 On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and really quietened down and by the end it was quieter, smooth and responsive again.
