â ī¸ Vehicle not as quiet, smooth, responsive or economical as it used to be?
đ Here we have a Vauxhall Zafira 2.0 CDTI (2013 – 63,322 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ The owner had used us before on a previous vehicle and having purchased this one wanted us to check it over and get it cleaned up. He had some running issues, poor fuel economy, and some white smoke issues when idling.
đ Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay with no obvious rattles or leaks, but a tell tale bass note present given the age and mileage.
đģ Initial diagnostics found multiple really old codes present from the last 35,000 miles which we have documented and cleared for the owner and none returned during the booking.
đ Live data monitoring showed good values across most of the components with coolant temperature maintained around 90°C, DPF data suggesting frequent, but active regeneration and soot levels fairly low due to a recent regeneration.
đ¨âđ§ On with the clean and the white smoke remained for the first 25-30 minutes and then subsided. The bass note from the engine soon subsided as the engine smoothed out and by the end was quiet, smooth and responsive again with no smoke.
