đ Here we have a Skoda Octavia 1.6 TDI (2016 – 75,482 miles) booked in for diagnostics consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ Having used us on a previous vehicle he wanted to get this one checked out and cleaned up as he has a warranty he can utilise to fix any issues found.
đ Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay with no obvious rattles or leaks, but a tell tale bass note present.
đģ Initial diagnostics found multiple codes present throughout the vehicle for low voltage issues and also codes present for reference voltage levels.
đ Live data monitoring showed DPF regeneration values all good, EGR flow and movement fine and coolant nice and hot. We monitored the battery voltage and it was a little lower than expected with occasional spikes – this (along with the numerous low voltage codes) may suggest an issue with the voltage regulator – something he can now get checked.
đ¨âđ§ On with the clean and the bass note soon subsided as the engine smoothed out and by the end was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
