🚗 Here we have a BMW 520d (2010 – 122,805 miles) booked in for diagnostics consultation and Engine Carbon Clean. The owner likes to look after his vehicles and keep on top of the maintenance.
🔎 Initial inspection of the engine bay found no obvious issues and the engine sounded pretty sweet. The owner obviously has taken care of the maintenance.
💻 Initial diagnostics showed some historic EGR related codes present and given this had previously had an EGR issue dealt with then this either indicated the codes hadn’t been cleared or the original issue had not been resolved.
📊 Live data seemed to show the EGR opening and closing on cue, DPF healthy and regenerating normally and coolant temperatures holding at good levels.
👨🔧 On with the clean and although already running sweetly it did remove the low level bass note and the crispness of response returned.
