đ Here we have a Land Rover 2.7 V6 diesel (2007 – 136,057 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ The owner had booked in with a view to keeping on top of the maintenance and get it running back to its best.
đ Initial inspection found no obvious issues in the engine bay.
đģ Initial diagnostics found codes for the (now absent) EGR valves, along with some other bits and pieces in the rest of the vehicle. We documented and cleared these for the owner.
đ Live data monitoring showed decent values all round apart from coolant temperature – the hottest we could get this to was 77°C. A new thermostat required.
đĄī¸ A colder running vehicle will use more fuel to compensate – costing you money at the pump and increasing emissions.
đ¨âđ§ On with the clean and it soon smoothed out, quietened down and by the end it was quiet, smooth and responsive again, with a documented set of issues to monitor/address.
