Here we have a Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 (2017 – 55,311 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
ℹ️ The owner had used us on a previous vehicle so knew who to call. He had warranty with it so wanted it thoroughly checked over on the live data diagnostics and wanted it cleaned up to restore lost performance and get it running smooth and quiet again.
Initial inspection found no apparent issues in the engine bay with a small amount of background vibration and a bass note from the carbon present.
Initial diagnostics showed minimal code history with almost all the ‘lost communication’ codes relating to a low battery event, likely when sat on the forecourt prior to sale.
Live data monitoring showed live data looking OK with coolant temperature up to a healthy 97°C and all other relevant data looking good with DPF regeneration history showing an average distance between regenerations at 311 miles and current DPF soot levels approx 10%.
On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down and by the end it was much quieter, smooth and responsive again.
