ℹ️ Over time the carbon deposits left behind from the combustion process cause a drop off in fuel economy, increased engine vibration, increased emissions levels and a decline in response.

Here we have a modified Subaru WRX STI 330s (2009 – 45,709 miles) booked in for a diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean. With no apparent running issues the owner wanted to get it checked out and cleaned up, especially with switching to shorter journeys recently and wanting to keep it at its best.

Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay, but with all these 2.5 engines the bass purr was evident and the modified exhaust was very boomy.

Initial diagnostics found nothing engine related, but some old codes in other sections for a steering angle sensor, LH airbag, plus others. Once documented and cleared these did not reappear during the booking.

Live data monitoring showed good values across the board and a nice temperature of 90-95°C maintained throughout despite our best efforts showing the thermostat was working nicely.

‍On with the clean and the bass purr from the engine slowly dissipated and along with it the boom from the exhaust. By the end the engine was smooth and quiet again and the exhaust boom was now replaced with a nice burble.

Steve arrived to give my Jaguar xfs an engine carbon clean. Presently on 107,000 miles. Explained the process and was obviously very knowledgeable about the process and expected outcomes. And he was a thoroughly nice chap.
The V6 in the xfs is a quiet, smooth, powerful unit and I was not sure of what improvements I would get. Well, I’m impressed. The power delivery is smoother, the engine even quieter and 6 mpg better to boot.
If you want to do one thing to maintain and improve your motor, then this is what you should do.

Iv had the pleasure of having 2 Carbon cleans from both Adrian and Mark. Both lovely gentlemen and you can tell they love what they do. My car failed on emissions and this helped me get the car through the test, and at the time, I REALLY needed a pass because I couldn’t get anywhere. These guys saved me. Today Adrian from F5 Carbon7 DPF Clean came to de carbonise my xc60 he arrived bang on time he was very courteous and explained in great detail what the process was .
He set up within 5 minutes and went on to the diagnostics and talked me through what was coming up after a reset all was clear. It took about 1 hour in total great job well happy would definitely recommend Adrian well mannered gentleman.
