⚠️ Just bought a vehicle?
Here we have an Audi A6 2.7 TDI (2006 – 116,100 miles). The owner bought it recently and wanted to get it checked out and cleaned up before putting too many miles on it.
Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay with no obvious rattles or signs of engine mount wear.
Initial diagnostics showed lots of historic codes which we documented for the owner. Once cleared the active codes reappeared indicating all 6 glowplugs (likely the controller/relay), driver heated seat and an issue with the tailgate lock.
The live data showed temperatures up to normal levels, EGR movement and flow typical, injector fuelling within tolerances and fuel pressures normal.
The 2.7 and 3.0 TDI engines don't seem to suffer as badly as the 1.9 and especially the 2.0 TDI, but even so there was a distinctive bass note present which dissipated and by the end it was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
