⚠️ Dashboard lights on? Vehicle not running right?
Here we have a Ford Mondeo ST 2.2 TDCi (2006 – 138,173 miles) booked in for diagnostics consultation and Engine Carbon Clean after having intermittent power issues, a little bit of black smoke and ABS lights coming on.
Initial diagnostics found an error with the Right Front Wheel Speed Sensor – Circuit Failure and a matching code for Wheel Speed Mismatch. This would explain both the ABS issues and potentially the engine problems including the speedo needle flicking around.
The black smoking issue is likely unrelated and so an Engine Carbon Clean was performed. The engine had a fair amount of bass rumble when we started, but by the end was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
ℹ️ The owner now can get the wheel speed sensor checked/replaced and then hopefully good to go.
