‘I recently bought the car with 144,000 miles on it and not much service history so it's just for peace of mind. No dash lights on, I just think it runs a bit roughly.'
Initial inspection found no obvious issues in the engine bay apart from a bass rumble indicating the level of buildup present.

Live data showed all values looking good for exhaust temps, DPF regeneration, EGR movement, etc. all looking fine, BUT was running cooler than it should.
️ The owner said that he had noticed it taking a while to warm up which confirmed the temperature issue.
❗ After 13 years and 145k miles a new thermostat required.
On with the clean and it soon smoothed out, quietened down and by the end it was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
