Failed MOT on emissions – BMW 650i (2005 – 107,226 miles) – now PASSED

The car is driving very well, it feels quicker in response to the throttle and I think it is delivering the power more smoothly. I am extremely pleased, especially as it also passed the MOT with a green light on emissions. For your records the level dropped from 1.253 ( Fail) to 1.001 (Pass)

⚠️ MOT or Service Due? Get it checked out and cleaned up to identify underlying issues and get it running back to its best.

Here we have a BMW 650i (2005 – 107,226 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean after it had FAILED MOT on emissions.

Initial inspection found no major issues in the engine bay with no rattles or leaks.

Initial diagnostics showed no errors in the engine section, with just a couple of other bits and pieces in other sections of the car.

Live data monitoring showed the engine coolant maxing out at 98°C and all other data within limits. Lambda values all looked acceptable whilst we were with it.

‍On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down and by the end it was quieter, smooth and responsive again.
