Reason for booking in…‘The car is very slow to respond/lacks power when trying to accelerate, when going up/down gears when over taking slow moving vehicles.’
Initial inspection found no obvious issues in the engine bay with no excessive rattles and shakes, but a tell tale bass purr from the engine from the carbon present.
Initial code read found….cylinder 4 combustion misfires
Live data showed all values on the day looking acceptable with no misfires at idle, temperatures as expected, etc.
On with the clean and It soon smoothed out, quietened down and by the end it was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
❗ The owner can now start to run better fuel and see if the misfires return. If so then start looking at the spark plug, coilpack and injector as next steps.
