π Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi (2018 β 80,162 miles)
πReason for booking in…
‘Engine Management Light has come on and local garage has said its a DPF issue’
π Initial inspection found no obvious issues in the engine bay apart from a tell tale rumble in the engine from the carbon present.
π Initial code read found…
Code for P24C7:00 – EC Particulate Matter Sensor Temperature Circuit Range/Performance
π Live data showed acceptable coolant temperature in the 90s and DPF data indicating the DPF wasn’t blocked with a value of 33%. All other data for EGR and injectors looked fine, but the Exhaust Temperature Sensor 3 (downstream of the DPF) was maxed out and flatlined.
π§βπ§ We proceeded with and Engine Carbon Clean and it soon smoothed out, quietened down and by the end it was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
β The particulate matter sensor downstream of the DPF can now be checked and replaced to eliminate the engine management light.
