⚠️ Vehicle not as quiet, smooth, responsive or economical as it used to be?
Here we have a VW Transporter 2.0 TDI (92,929 miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean. The owner had recently had a few issues with the EGR amongst others and after getting it all rectified called us in to give it a checkup and clean.
Initial inspection of the engine bay found little of note and only a moderate amount of bass note given the mileage.
Initial diagnostics found some historic codes which we documented and cleared and none returned throughout the booking.
Live data looked good across the board with DPF backpressure nice and low, 150km since the last regeneration, coolant temperatures staying steady above 86°C and injector showing a variance of 0.4 mg/stroke or less.
With everything looking fine it was on with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down. With a clean bill of health this gives the current owner peace of mind.
