Here we have a Mazda 6 2.2 diesel (2016 – 77,057 miles) booked in for a diagnostics consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
ℹ️ The owner likes to look after his vehicles and after this had been in for a recent recall so wanted to get it checked out and cleaned up for the road ahead.
Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay with no obvious leaks or rattles and although there was a bass note there indicating the level of buildup present it wasn't excessive.
Initial diagnostics found just a single code relating to the CD player, but otherwise clear.
Live data monitoring also was clear across the board with coolant temperatures ranging from 96°C to 88°C when tested indicating a healthy thermostat and with DPF data showing low back pressure levels and DPF regeneration just 17 prior then we were good to go.
On with the clean and although running pretty well already it soon smoothed out, quietened down and the throttle response returned.
