Engine Carbon Clean Ford Mondeo
Here we have a Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi (2008 – 106,780 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean. The owner had recently repaired an exhaust to eliminate cabin smells and now wanted it checked out and cleaned up.
Initial inspection found no obvious issues in the engine bay, but there was significant vibration, rumble and lack of response from the carbon present.
Initial diagnostics showed a number of codes present which we documented and cleared for the owner.
Live data monitoring showed coolant temperature at 93°C, good EGR flow and movement, but injector fuelling for cylinder 3 was much higher than the others – potential worn/failing injector.
On with the Engine Carbon Clean for the Ford Mondeo and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down and by the end it was much quieter, smooth and responsive again. The owner can now address the injector issue.
