A Vauxhall Astra booked in with DPF issues for initial diagnostics with a view to a potential Engine Carbon Clean and/or DPF Clean if required.
📊 Diagnostics showed Glow Plug 2 needs replacing and also the DPF Differential Pressure Sensor showing an implausible signal – this will be the underlying cause for the DPF problems.
🔧 A manual check on the pressure sensor pipe for the DPF indicated the back pressure was still low enough for it to still regenerate (if the above issues are fixed) so no need for a DPF Clean today.
⚙️ With this in mind we have it a slow and gentle Engine Carbon Clean to clean up the source of the soot and the owner can get the glowplug and pressure sensor fixed and it should start regenerating again.
