Here we have a 2008 Ford Mondeo TDCi booked in for diagnostics. After sporadic DPF issues the engine management light has been on recently and the owner wanted to get it checked out. The vehicle is doing long journeys, but on cheap fuel.
The usual DPF related codes were in the system, but on this one cleared and did not reappear throughout the duration of the booking.
After discussing with the owner we decided to give it a careful Engine Carbon Clean to clean up the source of the soot (engine) and get it back out on the road to hopefully regenerate.
With a better diet and a cleaned up combustion chamber this one should be fine.
