⚠️ MOT or Service Due?
❗ Get it checked out and cleaned up to identify underlying issues and get it running back to its best.
🚗 Here we have a VW Passat 1.9 TDI (2007 – 144, 414 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean after it had FAILED MOT on emissions.
🔎 Initial inspection found no apparent issues in the engine bay with no rattles or leaks, just a heavy bass note from the carbon present.
💻 Initial diagnostics showed an engine code for glowplug 4, plus a couple of other bits and pieces in other sections of the car.
📊 Live data monitoring showed the engine coolant at 92°C (thermostat OK) and all other data within limits.
👨🔧 On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down and by the end it was quieter, smooth and responsive again.
