đ Here we have a classic from 1991. A lovely Jaguar XJS 3.6 flat six on 89,268 miles booked in for an Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ The vehicle had been stood barely used for 10 years and after being purchased recently the owner took it for MOT and it failed on emissions.
đ Initial inspection on this beauty found a lot of shake from the engine and a lot of bass noise. The owner has already picked off a few issues, but still had some niggles to sort including a battery light (even though battery is fine and charging happily) plus some other gremlins including a misbehaving oil temperature sensor.
đ¨âđ§ No diagnostics available on vehicles of this age so old fashioned checks performed before we started. On with the clean and lots of TLC required on this one. Very slow and steady as she goes and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down and by the end it was much quieter, smooth and responsive again.
