⚠️ Doing lots of short journeys and stop/start driving?
Here we have a Ford Fiesta 1.6 diesel (2014 – 111,553 miles) booked in for diagnostics consultation and Engine Carbon Clean after a number of recent issues.
🔍 Health check identified that although the EGR was actuating it sounded ‘slow and creaky’ in its movement.
📊 Diagnostics showed a historic code for EGR and an active code for the MAF sensor below range. The vehicle also had numerous low voltage errors and had only recently had a battery replacement. In addition the stop/start didn’t kick in most of the time. Looking at the live data the battery voltage hardly increased at all between ignition on and engine running which combined with the other symptoms likely points to an alternator issue.
⚙️ On with the clean and now quieter, smooth and responsive again and the owner now has a list of what to get rectified.
