🚗 Here we have a VW Jetta (2007 – 116,588 miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean after MPG had dropped off and it had developed a rumble and a rough idle.
🔎 Initial health check found an overall vibration to be expected from buildup, but in addition there was a ‘jelly wobble’ both visibly and felt through the seat – a tell take sign of worn engine mounts.
📊 Diagnostics showed some error codes for the headlamp washer relay and the auxiliary heater element which we documented for the owner and then on with the clean.
⚙️ As we progressed further into the clean the cylinder balancing values trimmed in closer to zero and the injection amount also lowered. By the end the engine rumble has subsided, but the jelly wobble remained. The owner can now get the mount addressed.
