đ Here we have a Mercedes C220 (2009 – 115,334 miles) originally booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ The owner had just purchased it with a 3 month warranty and having used us before had pre-booked us in advance to come and check it out and cleaned up.
đ Initial inspection found a tell-tale ‘chuffing’ noise when we lifted the bonnet and sure enough found a leaking injector.
âšī¸ No clean on this one today as it will get dirty again fairly quickly with a leaking injector and also needs to be sorted out to ensure it is safe to proceed.
đģ Initial diagnostics found active codes relating to the glow plug controller/plugs in the engine section plus other active and historic codes in other parts of the car which we documented and cleared for the owner.
đ Live data monitoring showed decent values for most other components such as the EGR, but the fuelling was out again confirming the visual on the injector leak. Temperature finally climbed to 90°C after a lot of persistence, but when tested plummeted to 70°C indicating a lazy thermostat.
đ¨âđ§ NO CLEAN TODAY – priority is to get this back under warranty armed with the photos and diagnostic report and then get the issues resolved. We can come back another day to finish off the booking and perform the clean along with checking the issues have been resolved.
