🚗 Here we have a VW Golf 1.6 TDI (2007 – 104,512 miles) booked in for a maintenance diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean after being recommended to us by a VW specialist.
🔎 Initial inspection found little of note with no obvious rattles or leaks – the engine was running remarkably well given the age and mileage and likely testament to running on good fuel and regular servicing.
💻 Initial diagnostics again found little of note and the couple of codes present documented and cleared for the owner.
📊 Live data looked good with a nicely performing thermostat holding good temperature when tested (maintaining 86-96°C) and all other live data looking fine.
👨🔧 On with the clean and the bass note present soon quietened down as the engine smoothed out and by the end was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
