⚠️ Vehicle not as quiet, smooth, responsive or economical as it should be?
🚗 Here we have a VW Touran 2.0 TDI (2012 – 91,885 miles) booked in for diagnostics consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
ℹ️ The owner booked it in as ‘a little noisy and acceleration isn’t what it used to be. Probably due to too many short journeys.’
🔎📊 Initial diagnostics showed minimal code history which we documented for the owner, cleared down and monitored. With DPF data and all other other data looking fine we proceeded with the clean.
👨🔧 Although running fairly nicely the short journeys had indeed taken their toll over time and there was a bass note in the engine from excessive vibration. As the clean progressed the engine quietened down and smoothed out and by the end was running sweetly.
🗣️ ‘After a 150 mile trip to the coast I definitely think its quieter, smoother and has a better pick up. Also got a constant 58mpg – not sure we’ve ever got near that.’
