⚠️ Vehicle not running like it should? Noisy, sluggish or engine lights on?
Here we have a VW Golf 2.0 TDI (2006 – 121,194 miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean after the owner has had engine lights on and limp mode issues.
📊 Initial diagnostic check confirmed that there was an overboost condition detected historically and the culprit looks like a faulty intake flap motor (V157). Codes also present for 3 of the glowplugs which will likely reappear at the next cold start. The aircon system also needed a regas with a low refrigerant pressure code.
Other than that all seemed to be in order, although amongst the overall engine vibration we could detect the wobble from worn engine mounts.
⚙️ On with the clean and within a minute of clearing the codes the intake flap motor code was back again. Otherwise as we progressed it smoothed out, quietened down and the response returned.
With the engine vibration minimised the wobble from the worn engine mounts became more apparent, but not as bad as some we have seen.
