Here we have a VW Beetle 2.0 petrol (2004 – 145,036 miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean due to poor fuel economy and increasing smells from the exhaust.
📊 On arrival it was quite boomy from the engine bay (tell tale sign of buildup in the engine causing excessive vibration) and live data diagnostics confirmed it was running rich.
⚙️ On with the clean and after just 15 minutes most of the boom had gone and by the end was lovely and quiet, smooth and responsive again with the fume smells gone and live data showing the over fuelling no longer present.
