β οΈ Vehicle not as quiet, smooth, responsive or economical as it used to be?
π Here we have a Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 (2014 – 142,380 miles) booked in for a diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean with no apparent issues and the owner just wanting to restore it and keep it running sweetly.
π Initial inspection found little of note with no obvious rattling or excessive vibration. A bass note was present indicating the buildup present.
π» Initial diagnostics found a historic engine code for a misfire due to low fuel levels amongst some other historic codes and once documented and cleared it was code free for the duration of the booking.
π Live data looked good with coolant temperatures in and around 90Β°C throughout, DPF data showing nice low backpressure, low soot levels and 70 miles since the last regeneration with an average of 548 miles between regenerations.
β With a fair few aborted regeneration events we advised the customer to keep above ΒΌ tank of fuel at all times to allow regeneration to proceed when requested.
π¨βπ§ On with the clean and although running pretty nicely already by the end it was quiet, smooth and responsive again.
