📝 ‘Carried out diagnostics and engine carbon clean . Used top of the range equipment and very knowledgeable. I don’t think you’ll get better value for money as the carbon clean was carried out carefully and professionally . My engine sounds a lot healthier on idle and took away a lot of vibration. 🚗 Here we have a Vauxhall Astra VXR 2.0 petrol (2007 – 102,769 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
ℹ️ The owner had performed lots of modifications over his ownership and wanted it cleaned up to restore lost performance and get it running smooth and quiet again.
🔎 Initial inspection found no major issues in the engine bay with a small amount of background vibration and a bass note from the carbon present making the exhaust very boomy.
💻 Initial diagnostics showed old codes for a boost pressure valve and some codes present for fan control.
📊 Live data monitoring showed live data looking OK with coolant temperature up to a healthy 97°C and all other relevant data looking good.
👨🔧 On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down considerably and with it the exhaust lost the boom. By the end it was much quieter, smooth and responsive again with a lovely rasp and burble.
