đ Here we have a Vauxhall Astra 1.9 CDTI (2008 – 129,953 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ The owner had reported it having occasional starting issues and when applying approx ž throttle or more getting a surge and then power loss.
đ Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay with no obvious rattles or leaks. There was a tell tale bass rumble to the engine and associated boom to the exhaust from carbon buildup.
đģ Initial diagnostics found an intermittent code – P1001-75 Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit/Open. This would certainly explain the symptoms the owner was getting and allows him to get this looked at.
đ Live data monitoring showed decent values for most components with injectors looking good, EGR movement normal and running at normal temperatures between 94-97°C.
đ¨âđ§ On with the clean and after just ten minutes the bass note started to go, the engine smoothed out and quietened down, and by the end it was much quieter, smooth and responsive again
