đ Here we have a Vauxhall Astra 1.7 CDTI (2012 – 114,172 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ The owner had recently had sticking turbo and limp mode issues and after a recent service called us in to check it out and clean it up.
đ Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay with no apparent rattles or leaks, just a bass note from the carbon present.
đģ Initial diagnostics showed some historic codes along with the turbo boost related issue. We documented those for the owner and cleared them down.
đ Live data monitoring showed all data looking OK with coolant up to 97°C, an average of 273 miles between regens.
đ¨âđ§ On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down. With some exercising of the actuator approx two thirds of the way through the actuator started working free and by the end it was quieter, smooth and responsive again.
