đ Here we have a recently purchased Ford Mondeo 2.2 TDCI (2011 â 126, 300 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ Booked in as the owner has used us before and wanted to get it checked out and cleaned up before putting too many miles on it. The owner has a warranty on the vehicle so we could supply him information to help get issues addressed.
đ Initial inspection found no apparent issues in the engine bay with no rattles or leaks, just a bass note from the carbon present.
đģ Initial diagnostics again showed a single active code present regarding the DPF being unable to regenerate.
đ Live data showed even in full sun and the heating off that the coolant would get to a maximum of 87°C. With the heating on inside the temperature dropped rapidly into the mid 70’s indicating a potential thermostat issue. The code present also can be due to a fault with the vaporiser so we suggested the owner get these issues addressed under warranty.
đ¨âđ§ On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down and by the end it was much quieter, smooth and responsive again.
