🚗 Here we have a BMW 320d (2010 – 148,555 miles) booked in for a diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean. The owner has had it for 4 years and is now looking to restore it to former glory and wanted a heads up on issues to fix and get it running back to its best.
🔎 Initial health check identified some chain noise, but given the mileage was to be expected. Initial code check showed some historic codes which we documented, emailed to the owner and cleared and then just 2 returned – both to do with the front brake sensors.
📊 Live data showed fuel rail pressures normal, DPF data looking good with nice low backpressure readings and recent regeneration and thermostats looked fine with a nice healthy reading at idle.
⚙️ On with the clean and thoroughout the clean all data remained normal and none of the historic codes reappeared. The rumble from the engine subsided within the first 20 minutes and by the end was breathing nicely, responsive underfoot and smooth again.
