🚗 Here we have a Ford Transit Connect 1.8d (2011 – 86,443 miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean after the owner wanted to get it back to its best.
🔎 Initial inspection found little of note in the engine bay and although a bass note was present from buildup it wasn’t as bad as could be for the mileage.
💻 Initial diagnostics found a number of historic codes where a mouse 🐀 had chewed through a cable. With that now resolved these cleared away and didn’t reappear.
📊 Live data looked good apart from a slight over fuel on injector 3. The thermostat coped well with the testing and stayed above 83°C and quickly recovered back up to 91°C. With all other data looking good we proceeded with the clean.
👨🔧 The bass note soon subsided and the engine smoothed out, quietened down and by the end was nice and quiet and responsive again.
