â ī¸ Vehicle not running right? Poor idle, low fuel economy, starting issues?
đ Here we have a Fiat Doblo 1.9 JTD (2002 – 170,845 miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ We originally came to this and DID NOT PROCEED with the clean as the diagnostics picked up an issue which needed fixing first. Initially this vehicle had a rough idle, poor fuel economy and used to cut out and struggle to start – we identified a crankshaft sensor issue and recommended this was fixed before any cleaning was performed.
đ Back today and initial inspection found a much better idle and no cutouts. Still a bass note to the engine indicating the levels of buildup present. Now fit to perform the clean.
đģ Initial diagnostics showed the historic code for the crankshaft sensor which we cleared.
đ Live data showed a perfectly running thermostat (replaced recently) running at an average of 91°C and varying little when tested. With all other live data within tolerances.
đ¨âđ§ On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out, quietened down and response returned.
