đ Here we have a Peugeot 207 SW 1.6 HDi (2009 – 137,507 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean.
âšī¸ The owner had only just bought it and added 150 miles to it before we got chance to assess and clean it up.
đ Initial inspection found no major issues in the engine bay, but did find the intake pipe wasn’t attached securely due to broken clips. There was a significant amount of bass note and a lack of response under foot.
đģ Initial diagnostics showed a code for the glow plug relay and little else of note. We documented and cleared these for the owner.
đ Live data monitoring showed data looking OK with coolant temperature at 91°C, good EGR movement and flow and good fuel pressures.
đ¨âđ§ On with the clean and the engine soon smoothed out and quietened down and by the end it was much quieter, smooth and responsive again.
The owner can now replace the intake pipe, glow plug relay and deal with the other faults found.
