⚠️ Fuel economy lower than it should be?
ℹ️ If a car is running cold then it won’t be as efficient as it should be. This will impact fuel economy, raise emissions and carbon buildup.
Another vehicle with a misbehaving thermostat – this time a Jaguar X type 2.2 diesel (2007 – 169,584 miles) booked in for diagnostics and Engine Carbon Clean after the fuel economy was quite poor.
⛑️ Health check looked clear apart from the dashboard coolant temperature display showing a little cold.
📊 Diagnostics was fairly clear with a couple of issues documented and cleared.
We turned the cabin heating on and the temperature dropped down to approx 75°C so it is likely another thermostat issue.
Once we established the issue we kept the cabin heating off to maintain the temperature and proceeded with the clean.
